EXAM INFORMATION:
- Examining Authority: Institute of Management Accounts( IMA®), USA.
- Number of Exams: Two parts, each comprising:
- 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Two Essay Questions
- (30 minutes each)
- Eligibility for Essay Section: Candidates need at least 50% correct MCQs to access the essay section.
- Duration: Four hours per part.
- Pass/Fail Determination: Total score determines pass/fail status; passing both sections separately are not mandatory.
- Result Notification: Exam results emailed and posted online about six weeks after testing.
- Updates in Standards: GAAP/IFRS changes reflected in the CMA® exam one-year post-effective date.
- Exam Center: Candidates can take the exam at any Prometric Centre for flexibility and convenience.
RE CERTIFICATION:
Continuing Professional Education (CPE): Requirement: 30 CPE credits per year for CMA® certification holders.
Membership Maintenance: Obligation to sustain IMA membership.

Requirements
- Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree: A degree from an accredited college or university in any area.
- Experience Requirement: Two (2) Continuous Years: Professional experience specifically in management accounting and/or financial management.
- Completion Timing: The fulfillment of these requirements may occur either before or within seven years of passing the examination.
- Adhere to the IMA Statement of Ethical Professional Practice.
- Maintain an active IMA membership.
