The NFPA® Certified Water-Based Systems Professional (CWBSP®) emerged in 2018 following consultations with prominent figures in water-based systems design. These discussions underscored a pressing need within the industry for a credential capable of rigorously evaluating and confirming the essential knowledge and expertise required for effective water-based systems design. The CWBSP® credential serves as a testament to an individual’s proficiency in this specialized field, providing validation and assurance of their capabilities as a water-based systems designer.

- Open Book Exam: CWBSP® exam is open book, enabling candidates to reference materials.
- Duration: Candidates have 4 hours to complete the exam.
- Question Format: The exam comprises 100 multiple-choice questions.
RE CERTIFICATION:
- Re certification: CWBSP® certification requires re certification every three years.
- Professional Development: Holders must earn 60 points through relevant activities.
- Submission: Complete the Re certification Points Form and submit it to NFPA®.
- Start Accumulating: Begin accumulating points promptly, with no repetition of college courses within the cycle.
Requirements
- Educational Requirement: Possess a high school diploma, GED, or international equivalent, or hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Experience Criteria: Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or GED, or 4 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
